Adventurous Dining at the Airport near many Lobos Management Properties

Klein of the Pittsburgh City Paper – “serious connoisseurs alike.” The appetizer menu pushes the boundaries of typical airport food: roasted bone marrow, duck confit sliders, pork belly croutons, but the entrees tend to rely more on regional / traditional tastes: fried chicken, grilled trout, smoked pork butt, steak and grilled meatloaf. Symon’s approach to food is decidedly “meat-centric,” but there are several salads on the menu for vegetarian patrons. Vegan options could reasonably come from the restaurant’s “bar snacks” and “sides” menu. Also available are ten draft beers and a fully stocked bar. It’s an exciting time to fly in and out of Pittsburgh, and Bar Symon brings a touch of the high-life (without the pretension) to frequent flyers of the friendly skies.

Over the last few years, the city of Pittsburgh has quickly started to become a new national hotspot for young and thrifty city dwellers. During its renovation of the Cinderella Building, the team at Lobos Management gained considerable insight into the construction of this circa-1903 architectural gem. Built in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the property offered convenient, stylish housing with modern amenities. One of the most eclectic and original tourist destinations in the Pittsburgh area is Swissvale’s Trundle Manor, an art house / gallery that offers public tours of their “cabinet of curiosities.” In the words of the curators, “Trundle Manor is a private collection of weird things that has been made available to the public [including] items such as taxidermy, jarred specimens, medical implements, and bizarre weaponry” – clearly not your average museum. In fact, it is very difficult to discern exactly what Trundle Manor is, and that’s precisely how curators Mr. Arm and Velda Von Minx like it. The mystery, it would seem, is actually part of the experience which helps to bring a dynamic and sensory reaction from visitors. The curiosities are not just contained to the art house space, however. Trundle Manor – at its heart – is part of the long American tradition of carnival sideshows. With the recent addition of the Trundle Manor Traveling Creepshow, experiencing a small taste of the gothic and grotesque is no longer just contained to their physical space in Swissvale. This traveling sideshow comes complete with a mobile tent to house the oddities, several performers / members of the manor, and a rotating exhibit of “bizarre beasts and collectibles.” For Pittsburgh residents who are unfamiliar with this fascinating little twist on the museum / art house, it is definitely worth visiting. The recent spread of the “gastropub” concept across the culinary landscape of America took root within the Pittsburgh city limits several years ago. Casual high-end dining options like Kevin Sousa’s Salt of the Earth and Richard DeShantz’s Downtown eatery, Meat and Potatoes, have been tantalizing the taste buds of local diners since late 2010 and early 2011 respectively.
