Mt. Lebanon’s Brew Fest and Lobos Management’s Kingsley Apartments

Posted on: September 6, 2012

In recent years, American consumer culture has been trending away from purchasing the fruits of mass production in favor of supporting local and regional goods and services. The food and hospitality industry, in particular, has embraced this regional philosophy as demonstrated by the surge of farm-to-table restaurants, farmers markets, and specialty grocery stores popping up across the country. Noteworthy in the city of Pittsburgh are Kevin Sousa’s Salt of the Earth on Penn Avenue in Garfield and the new locally sourced grocery store, Marty’s Market in the Strip District. This emphasis on locally produced or small-batch-artisanal product has also been adopted by home brewers and microbrew companies looking to share their ales with a thirsty world. Mt. Lebanon’s annual Brew Fest provides residents of the Pittsburgh suburb the opportunity to sample microbrews from the region, listen to live music, and take a chance on one of many raffle prizes. The 2012 Brew Fest features micro-batch selections from Penn BreweryChurch Brew Works, Great Lakes, Hop City, and many other select pilsners, IPAs, bocks, and nut browns. Chairing this year’s Brew Fest is Rocky Bleier, Mt. Lebanon resident and pride of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Also located in Mt. Lebanon – home to the annual Brew Fest – is Lobos Management’s Kingsley apartment building. Offering efficiencies, one bedroom, and two bedroom apartments, the Kingsley has the perfect space for anyone looking to live in the South Hills. The convenient location makes it easy to catch public transportation into the city or to the nearby shopping plazas, making this an ideal living location for Pittsburgh suburbanites. The tight knit community supports the growing trend towards supporting local business, and as a Pittsburgh based company, Lobos Management fits beautifully into this model of returning to regional goods and services.
