Dining in North Oakland and the Royal Windsor Apartments

Posted on: August 31, 2012

North Oakland has always been the cultural melting pot of Pittsburgh, and its many restaurants and boutique grocery stores reflect the diverse population of the neighborhood. For a casual dining experience, Oakland is home to Middle Eastern restaurants like Khalil’s II and Ali Baba, Indian fare at Tamarind and India Garden, Mexican cuisine at Mad Mex, affordable Chinese at Golden Palace Buffet and Lulu’s Noodles, and traditional American food at Joe Mama’s, Fuel and Fuddle, and the Original Hot Dog Shop (referred to by locals simply as “the O.”) In addition to the many restaurants located in Oakland, specialty grocery stores also dot the landscape: Salem Halal Meats and Groceries and Bombay Mart, both located just blocks from the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University.

Situated in the heart of all of this culinary diversity is Lobos Management’s Royal Windsor apartment building. The property boasts both covered and off-street parking, plenty of storage space, and fully equipped, newly renovated kitchens.  Located along the public transportation line, the Royal Windsor offers easy access to Oakland, Shadyside, Bloomfield, and all that the Steel City has to offer.
